Pony Camp
After great success at NZYWF 2022, groundbreaking poetry extravaganza Show Ponies and Freya Daly Sadgrove return to the fest this year to nurture the next generation of ponies in a 2-day performance workshop for poets, musicians and dancers. Join Freya to collaborate in a unique devised work that will be performed as part of this year’s fest.

Pony Camp Workshop 1: Unbridling Your Poem

Rules are for breaking and genres are for melting. Good things happen when poetry collaborates with other artforms. In the first of two workshops, Freya Daly Sadgrove – author of Head Girl and ringleader of groundbreaking poetry extravaganza Show Ponies – mentors high-school poets, musicians and dancers to create their own original collaborative performance pieces.

Pony Camp workshop 2: Harnessing Your Performance

Get the audience where you want them: in the palm of your hand. Don’t let them look away. In the second of two workshops, Freya Daly Sadgrove trains a new stable of Ponies to prepare and polish their original collaborative performance pieces for the stage.
